Treasure Hunt and Barbecue – Sunday 11th September 2016 (rearranged date)

Introducing a new event for 2016! A treasure hunt for all the family around Menston. This event has now been rearranged with a new date of Sunday 11th September 2016. We hope you can join us.

Start at the scout hut on Low Hall Road between 1.30 and 2.30pm, and finish at school, where there will be a barbecue and bar from 3.30pm, a Yorkshire Dales ice cream van, plus games of rounders and football to join in if you’re still feeling energetic. Each clue on the route will include a letter, and some hints at the location of the next clue. Once you have all the letters, decipher the anagram correctly and your answer sheet will go into a draw for some great prizes.

The route is around 5km, so allow two hours with children. There is some walking over stiles and fields in the middle of the route so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather on the day. Slings or backpacks may be preferable for carrying little ones rather than pushchairs.

Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children age 3+. Children can’t do this on their own, so each group must include at least one adult who is responsible for getting everyone round the route in one piece.
